An awards ceremony happens once, in a room that has been paid for, in front of people who have bought tickets — so the whole production is built around dependability rather than cinematic flourish. No. The live rack and the switched workflow are built around dependable 1080p, which is the sensible real-world standard for a ceremony and what the venue's own screens and your streaming platform will show anyway. Every tier records and delivers 1080p.
The VTs are made before the night, not on it. We agree two dates in planning: the date the finalists' material has to be with us, and a lock date after which a VT cannot be changed — the pack has to be delivered to your venue in their playback format and proved on their machine before the show. A category with no material still gets a VT: it falls back to the card built from your finalist list, so a late finalist costs them a film, not the running order.
The ceremony recording is the show as it happened, cut live and tidied afterwards — the whole programme from the opening title to the last award, plus a separate cut of each category so every winner can publish their own moment. The after-movie is a different film: two to three minutes of the whole night, shot by a second operator moving through the room, and it is what next year's tickets are sold on. It is included from Plus, because it needs somebody on a camera in the room rather than at the desk.
We need the room from the afternoon — roughly four hours before doors — because the rack, the cameras and the cable run all go in before your guests do, and the whole VT pack is played through your screens before anyone is in there. Most venues are dressing the room for dinner during the day, so the exact release time is the first thing to confirm with them. We come down after the ceremony once the floor is clear, in about ninety minutes, and the room is walked and signed off before we go.
Pro broadcasts the ceremony live to your chosen platform. On Core and Plus it is not included and it is not simply an encoder — a live audience and a remote one want different things from the same hour, and it needs venue internet we can test in advance, a backup path and more planning around your run of show. Tell us early and we will scope it. The Multi-Platform Streaming add-on covers broadcasting to further platforms beyond the first, once there is a stream to broadcast.
